To the south are several golfing opportunities with the Escena Golf Club, the Desert Princess Country Club, and the Cimarron Golf Resort. There are several parks in this city including Agua Caliente Park, Ocotillo Park, Town Square, and Patriot Park. Most have picnic tables and tot lots; some have barbecue pits and sports fields. The Big League Dreams Sports Park is popular with its four replica major league fields.

There are many shopping centers in this region including the Cathedral City Marketplace, the Cathedral Plaza Shopping Center, and the Rimrock Shopping Center.

Cathedral City is located between Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs. It is the second largest in Coachella Valley and was once involved in a downtown revitalization program in the 1990s. The Agua Caliente Indian Reservation makes up a third of Cathedral City as well as much of Palm Springs.
